Sarah Stevenson (she/her) is a mezzo-soprano who specializes in declamatory singing from the teachings of Manuel Garcia and bringing true theatricality to opera performances. She recently just finished up doing the role of Carmen in June of 2026, Madame Armfeldt (A Little Night Music) in May of 2026. She also has done oratorio pieces including the Bach B Minor Mass and being the contralto soloist of Rossini's Petite Messe Solenelle.
Sarah Stevenson, mezzo-soprano, recently graduated with her BM in Vocal Performance at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music where she was in the studio of Amy Shoremount-Obra. She has been described as being a “one in every- several decades kind of talent; a strong voice with lots of squillo”. recently debuted the title role of Carmen with Varna International in Columbia, SC, La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi with Varna International in Asiago, Italy, (Carmen and La Ciesca both under the musical direction of Maestro Gregory Buchalter) Mme de La Haltière in Cendrillon (cover) and Bradamante in Alcina at Brooklyn College and Miss Todd in the Old Maid and the Thief. Sarah has participated in programs with NAE Juilliard Summer, and The García School of Hawaii International Music Festival. Sarah has also performed at the Mostly Modern Festival, where she premiered the works of living composers.
